Ponta da Piedade is such a beautiful part of the world! It's situated on the South coast of Portugal, close to the town of Lagos, in the Algarve.
Ponta da Piedade is a rock formation in the Atlantic Ocean with stunning panoramic views all around. There are boat trips available from several locations. I didn't have time to enjoy a boat trip, but it looks like so much fun. Plus it would give you another view of the rocks from sea level. Speed boats, canoes and kayaks all offer different boating experiences for tourists.
I loved the views up there, but those scared of heights might want to avoid this one. It's very dangerous up there as there are no railings to stop people falling off the edge. I don't recommend this to anyone who struggles with balance, or anyone with small children.
The crystal clear waters were beautiful shades of blue and green, contrasting with the dotted white/golden sandstone rocks. I see why this is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Portugal.
There were several beautiful sand beaches close to Ponta da Piedade including Praia do Barranco do Martinho, Praia dos Pinheiros and Praia da Balança. All of which are small secluded beaches perfect for families. For a larger beach, head to Praia do Canavial.
The views were incredible and I took lots of photographs, so sorry in advance for the overload below!
