Not Perfect Linen – My New Favourite Linen Brand

As we all know by now, I have been looking for alternatives to fast fashion, and once you start looking, you'll be surprised by all the beautiful eco friendly & sustainable brands that are out there.
I found Not Perfect Linen mentioned on a couple of blogs talking about sustainable fashion so thought I would have a look and I'm obsessed!
"Family of creative people who are passionate about their work welcomes you to our "not PERFECT LINEN" home. Our family - run brand is everything about ensuring quality, promoting transparency, enforcing sustainable practices and ethical approach. We empower our customers to lead the manufacture process by working on pre - order basis and while producing in line with demand we are able to reduce waste and offer reasonable prices by cutting waste - related loss. For us creating ethical items bring the sense of community and it is like quite protest against mass produced goods. We do not make things just to make money. The items are not just for profit. We make goods that involve years of learned skills, passion, commitment and sincerity."
Here are some of my favourite Not Perfect Linen items from their Etsy Shop.
This is a classic vest top which will go with EVERYTHING! This is perfect to wear with shorts, trousers, skirts and can be either dressed down or dressed up.
I imagine having maybe 5 of these in my wardrobe in classic colours like white, beige, pink, black and grey. Although I do think some of the other colours are very versatile too.
This classic shape is something I have been wearing for years and something like this would last for a very long time in your wardrobe.
I love these trousers. The shape of the peg leg trousers are beautiful and so flattering for lots of body shapes whether you're curvy or pretty straight up and down.
The elasticated waist band means that these will fit everyone and they will also be super comfy.
I also really like the length of these trousers how they are just above the ankle. This makes them cooler to wear in the summer months and make you look more put together. Pair with a lovely pair of sandals and you're good to go!
"We are absolutely dedicated to thoughtful creating/making process so we try to avoid programmed machines or other non-human help and try to use as much human input in the whole process as possible in order we could not only provide you with truly handmade item but also hire more seamstress who could honorably earn for a living. Regarding this, our making process is slow but we hope that it also motivates our customers to find satisfaction in slow buying and slow living."
I haven't ever really owned a jumpsuit but I picked 3 for this edit. I obviously need one in my life.. or 3!
This one is gorgeous as I like the tie waist, the short cap sleeves and the length of the trousers.
This jumpsuit would be super comfortable and breathable in summer and I can imagine it paired with a basket bag, a straw hat and some gold leather sandals.
Ideal for taking on holiday and would look amazing in photographs in Italy & France.
This top is a bit like the classic vest above but a little different. I love the v neck front, the thin straps and the shape.
This is another wardrobe staple and something you would wear all the time with EVERYTHING from shorts in the day to nice trousers at night time.
Again this comes in a variety of colours and would be the perfect top to add to your wardrobe.
Pair it with a gold necklace and a midi skirt (coming up next in the post) and it is perfect for summer day trips!
"How about being small but still strong? We strongly believe that thoughtfully selected Oeko - tex certified linen fabric from our local manufacturers, simple cuts of clothes which usually suits all ages, shapes and sizes, that lovely loose fit and relaxed look of the piece is our strength and the best we can offer for our customers. We avoid anything that is not essential for the garment (intricate cuts, non - comfortable fit, zippers, excess details etc.) leaving the priority to the clean and versatile look."
This beautiful midi skirt would be so lovely in summer with either of the tops I have mentioned above.
The waist band is elasticated which means it will fit comfortable and can adjust to the body's movements.
This skirt also has pockets which is a game changer for keeping your phone or something close by.
I think this skirt could also be amazing for travelling with a backpack and equally with a nice top and heels for a nice meal. It's so versatile and won't ever go out of style!
This is the second jumpsuit I'm mentioning in this blog post and I wanted to talk about this one as the fit is different to the first one.
I love the peg leg style, the tie waist and the cross over front.
This particular style is sleeveless so it is perfect for those days where you want long trousers but also the freedom of having your arms out.
I think the shape of this jumpsuit is super flattering and the tie waist will hide any lumps & bumps whilst the v neck accentuates the chest and waist too.
Such a great piece to throw on and go!
"Why not perfect? The beauty of linen is that it is not perfect. If you keep trying to iron it, you will definitely miss the beauty of it. Linen needs to be used and it gets better with age. Linen pieces can be compared to old English leather shoes or old mechanical Swiss watches - all of these things are not new or perfect but are definitely more valuable than any new. We are inspired by linen simplicity and imperfection and we are glad to share with something irregular and something that is not perfect with you."
This jumpsuit is similar to the previous one with the tie waist, v neck cross over front and peg leg style. However, this one has little cap sleeves which can even out board shoulders.
I love the pockets, the cut and the style of this jumpsuit.
Again, like all of the pieces this is something that you could dress up with heels and a nice clutch bag or dress down with sandals and a basket bag.
I can see myself travelling through India in clothes like this. Oh my gosh. I'm already dreaming of the gorgeous photographs we can take!!
And in case you were wondering which colours you can choose from before buying, you can order a pack of colour swatches.
These cost around $1 and include 41 swatches.
I personally love the colours light camel, taupe, amber yellow, salmon blush, canyon clay, almost apricot, redwood, light elephant grey, desert sage and saffron.
I can see myself wearing a full wardrobe of these clothes.. I just need to save up some money!
FINAL THOUGHTS
I love that these items are made to order. Even though this means waiting a couple of weeks for them to make the items then a couple of weeks for postage, the fit will be just right. And if you don't change much in size, should fit you for a while.
I am obsessed with the selection of colours and can see myself wearing all of these items in different colours whilst travelling around the world. How beautiful would that be?!
I think I will purchase a couple of items and give a real review once I have felt the fabrics, tried on the styles and looked at how they fit etc. But from an outsider looking in, these look incredible!
