The Miami Beach Botanical Gardens are a lovely tranquil oasis away from the tourists & busyness of South Beach. It is located on Dade Boulevard and 19th street.
The Botanical Gardens is a 2.6 acre plot of land showcasing subtropical plants from all over the world including south Florida's native plants.
I came here for a couple photoshoot (we paid $50 for a photography permit) but it is a great place to come and relax. It is free to enter and walk around at your own pace. Or you can take a donation based tour with a specialist.
I particularly enjoyed looking at all the different plants, animals and areas of the gardens. The Japanese garden is a lovely spot for photographs of families or couples as it is quite private and has a lovely red bridge.
I would recommend families to come here for a tropical picnic setting or couples to come here for a leisurely afternoon outside. Miami Beach can get so busy and crowded, it is nice to have somewhere in mind if I ever want to do some outdoor yoga, read a book in peace or simply sit outside and listen to the birds and animals!
The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 9am to 5pm.
The garden is also closed on New Year's Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
General admission to the garden is always free.
Some special events may be ticketed and there is a suggested donation of $2 per person for large groups, and $5 per person for guided tours.
You pay for photography permits ($50) at the Botanical Boutique which is also where you can ask for a guide or buy gifts such as magnets and pens.
